Panimo is a creative arts organisation that helps facilitate community development and
growth through networking events and workshops. We work with people predominately
between 18-25 and aid them in facilitating and building genuine connections within the arts
community so that they can find lasting career prospects within the arts. We help young
people workshop their new work, offer support groups and community events so that new
artwork can be tested and experimented. Panimo is a platform that helps young people
emerging into the arts sector stabilise their career and create the best work!
Need a leg up? Finding it hard to break into the arts? We know. We're here to change that. Welcome to a world where it's not about who you know, but what you know and what you can do. Panimo is here to help you with the hard part: getting your foot in the door, so you can focus on doing what you love: creating.
An ATYP x Nightingale Content production, RoomWorks was a one-week challenge that paid 10 young writers and 10 young actors to write and perform an original 1 - 2-minute monologue in teams of two, which was screened in a digital scratch night on July 18th. The program aimed to provide young artists the opportunity to connect with others in the community, network with more experienced creators and hone their respective skills during this period apart.
Panimo was proud to be the networking facilitator for the RoomWorks participants. The RoomWorks team jumped on our website to check-in, connect and ask questions throughout the program in their dedicated RoomWorks group and also provided industry Q&A's with the mentors and panelists for everyone to tune in. We even hosted our Networking Differently session on Zoom for the after-party!
Backdoor Bookclub is an new ongoing initiative in which emerging playwrights – whose works are not necessarily at a staged-reading level of development – can submit their work via the Panimo platform, where the Panimo team will select a piece and host a discussion about the work with the writer and industry creatives. This project provides young artists a space in which their writing can be fostered and honed; they will also receive dramaturgical feedback and support from both their peers and industry creatives.
In the lead up to RoomWorks, founders Jack and Jodi spoke with established professionals from across the industry about all things arts: acting, directing, dramaturgy, making your own work, and much more. These conversations provide a valuable insight into the industry and how an artist can find their place within it.
